Why Taylor Swift is going to ‘kill’ Travis Kelce for breaking an item

Travis Kelce may have literally ended up in a fiancée Taylor Swift‘s bad books.

During Tuesday, February 2 teaser clip for the next day’s episode of Travis, 36, and older brother Jason Kelce‘s podcast, “New Heights,” the Chief tight end fell back in his chair and landed on the ground with an audible thud.

A red-faced Travis, who had laughed enthusiastically at a comment from Jason, 38, about trotting “best in show” dogs, joked after his fall: “Taylor is going to kill me.”

As both brothers panicked over the accident and Travis regained his balance in his seat, Jason laughed even harder at his younger brother’s candid comment about 36-year-old Swift.

Travis Kelce is ready to move on after another “deflating” NFL loss. Kelce, 34, broke up the Las Vegas Raiders’ Christmas Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs during the Wednesday, Dec. 27 episode of “New Heights,” telling his brother and cohost, Jason Kelce, that the Chiefs’ offense was “trash” on the field. “We have handed over […]

A caption for the teaser clip, shared via X, read: “Warning: This week’s episode is dangerously funny. Tomorrow. Super Bowl preview with two special guests.”

Travis’ light-hearted comment comes just two weeks after he joked that the pop star would “kill” him for yet another reason. While sharing fans’ reactions to a new “New Heights” merch drop, one listener commented, “I can’t believe none of the new hoodies are called ‘New Heights or Man-Hoodie,'” prompting blank expressions from Travis and Jason.

When the duo’s intern reminded them that the comment was a reference to Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl,” since “New Heights” is on the album’s “Wood,” Travis responded with a tongue-in-cheek response.

Jason Kelce got shut down on “New Heights” when he tried to chat politely with his brother, Travis Kelce. “For the next week, you need to put your mind elsewhere,” Jason, 37, told his brother on the Wednesday, November 5, episode of their joint podcast. “What are you doing? Something fun [or are] […]

“I didn’t understand that,” he said. “Taylor is going to kill me because I don’t know.”

Despite the jokes, Travis and Swift, who got engaged in August 2025 after dating for two years, have been enjoying quality time together in recent weeks. When they stepped out for a rare public date night in Los Angeles on January 12, they were spotted heading to dinner at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills. Captured in photos obtained by TMZ Swift was wearing a gray blazer at the time while Travis wore a green, brown and tan bowling shirt as they exited a vehicle and entered the restaurant.

The outing comes amid speculation about the future of Travis’ football career, with the NFL star reportedly set to retire. While no official announcement has been made, his teammates appeared to begin the farewell during the Chiefs’ Jan. 4 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

This is evident from an article published by a local news outlet Kansas City star after the game, in which the Raiders won 14-12, the third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun reached out to Travis in the locker room. “Man, thanks,” Oladokun, 28, reportedly told him.

Additionally, the outlet reported that linebacker Cole Christiansen also told Travis, “No matter what, it was an honor to play with you.”

Travis said on the Jan. 7 episode of “New Heights” that he looks forward to “being a regular person” once he’s done playing football. “Every season ends for me, I just put my feet up and I’m human because I put my body through the wringer out of love,” he told Jason on the show.

He continued, “I enjoy playing football and the physical aspect of it. I think there’s something about feeling the wear and tear of the football season, just getting ready for a game, knowing your body is damn beat. I think there’s something going on, you just feel like a mangy animal out here looking for a way to survive.”
