Why Sharon Osbourne Secretly Husband Ozzy wore a wig

Ozzy Osbourne once convinced tens of thousands of fans whom he had torn his own hair in a satanic frenzy on stage – a joke born after his wife, Sharon, insisted that he horrified a shaved head under a wig, Radaronline.com can reveal.
The late 76-year-old Heavy Metal Frontman, who deserved fame for biting the heads of animals and cultivating a reputation as a self-proclaimed madman, organized the shocking stunt during black Sabbath tours in 1982.
What started as a cover-up after drinking two days and changed drugs into one of the most notorious moments of his live career.
“Ozzy really hated to wear that wig,” claimed a musician who was touring with him at the time. “He kept saying that he wanted to pull it away during the set, so we came up with the idea of making it look like he was sipping his scalp.
“He was immediately in it – he thought it would completely panic the crowd.”
According to guitarist Brad Gillis, who then played next to Ozzy, the incident started when the singer disappeared before a concert in Texas.
“Sharon couldn’t find Ozzy for a few days,” Gillis recalled. “This was before mobile phones, so she sounded around and asked if anyone had seen him.
“When he finally returned, he was a hangover and he had completely shaved his head.”
Sharon, then 30, insisted on buying a long blonde wig, which bass player Rudy Sarzo is cut to match his usual style. Ozzy left the solution – who died in July after a fight with Parkinson’s – to say the least.
Gillis remembered, “He said,” I hate this thing, I want to drop it off. ” That is when we thought – why don’t it look like he’s scalp? “
At the Texas Jam Festival in Dallas, for 80,000 fans, the joke unfolded. Ozzy tore his shirt away before he grabbed his head. While fake blood flowed over his face, he slowly pulled the wig free and waved his arms up while the crowd stared open mouth.
“It was pure theater,” said Gillis. “Eighty thousand children were just striked. Their jaws fell.”
The act was repeated during a show in New Orleans but quickly left. “Word started spreading on radio stations, so we couldn’t keep doing it,” said Gillis. “At the time, without social media, you could still surprise such people – but only for a few nights.”
Ozzy’s preference for chaos reached much further than wigs and theater blood.
Drummer Vinnie Appice, now 67, remembered that the singer would soak him with water in the middle of the performance.
“Ozzy thought it was funny,” Appice told Sirius XMs Stemnation. “I would see him come with a bucket, and the next thing I knew, everything was steeped in – me, the drums, the stage. The crew had to run inside and wipe it all away.”
The antics only ended when Sharon intervened.
Appice said, “The next morning in the hotel lobby she asked how it went. I said,” Yes, but he keeps throwing water on me. ” She just said, “He did it?” That was the end.
Even for an artist who built up a career in the outrageous, the Wig stunt remains one of the most surrealistic episodes of Ozzy.
