Why Bachelor’s Bekah Martinez did not shave her legs in 7 years
Bachelor alum Bekah Martinez reveals why she has not shaved her legs for seven years.
In a Tuesday 8 July, Instagram Post, Martinez, 30, shared a screenshot of a message that she recently received with the text: “Your face is not with your hairy legs.”
“Gray must be repressed,” the message continued, referring to the old love of Martinez, Grayston LeonardWith whom she shares three children, including daughter Ruth, 6, and sons Franklin, 5, and Ernesto, 21 months.
In a long slide show, Martinez replied that it is her body, her choice.
“I started to sneak my mother’s razors in the 3rd grade. I remember that I had prayed to God that he would remove all my hair from the neck,” Martinez wrote. “Family, friends and even teachers and coaches would gently tease when one of my stubble grew for jet -black leg. It was seemingly harmless, but continued to strengthen that the hair of my body was wrong.”
Martinez continued: “I stopped shaving when I was pregnant with my first child. I wanted my daughter (and my future sons) to see that her on the body of a woman is normal. Not shameful. Not dirty. I wanted to show that body hair is not male. Because I am a woman. And so my body hair is feminine.”
“It wasn’t just for my children,” she explained. “It was for me. I consciously wanted to continue with the disgust that I had in my natural body. I still don’t like my body hair. And in certain institutions I feel the looks of people and I feel ashamed. But the feeling has so much less power about me.”
She concluded: “And when Ruth points and says,” Mom, my legs look like yours, “without a shred of shame, it’s all worth it.”

What’s concerning her fiancé? “And for the record, Gray went to a liberal art lecture in Oregon, so he had his considerable part of the gross shawn women,” Martinez wrote her position.
Martinez was a participant in The bachelor Season 22 in 2018, fighting to Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s affections, although she eventually finished fifth.
Since the show, Martinez has found love with Leonard, with whom she became official in July 2018. The couple has been engaged since 2022.
“Yes 🥂 ♥ ♥ ️,” Martinez wrote an Instagram post in July 2022 with Snaps from Haar and Leonard who celebrated while showing her engagement ring.
