Who could die in Landman’s season 2 finale? Theories explained

Taylor Sheridan‘s shows are infamous for introducing shocking character deaths – and HusbandmanThe season 2 finale will likely be no different.
The Paramount+ series, which premiered in 2024, follows the world of West Texas oil fields. Husbandman functions Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy, a corporate fixer who works for an oil titan named Monty (Jon Hamm). As the first season came to a close, Monty was killed while settling down Demi Moore‘s Cami as the new protagonist.
“You’re dropping these little bits all season long,” executive producer Christian Wallace told TV insider in January 2025 while thinking about the big plot twist. “You see Monty checking his heart rate on his watch, or his wife Cami telling him there’s no more coffee and just little things falling all the time to let you know something’s going on so that when it finally happens, it doesn’t come completely out of nowhere.”
He continued, “But you also don’t want to be too heavy-handed about it and just explicitly telegraph that to the viewers. So it’s just a matter of trying to find a balance of letting people know there’s a problem without it being the only thing they can think about.”
The season 2 finale, which airs on Sunday, January 18, is titled “Tragedy and Flies,” which could indicate a death. Sam Elliott‘s character TL may be the most likely option, as most of his time on screen consisted of complaining about various medical conditions – but he’s not the only one who could be on the chopping block.

Biggest+Following in her late husband’s footsteps, Moore’s Cami might be the next member of the Miller family to die while running M-Tex Oil. So far, Cami has been running the operation with an iron fist, so unless Moore wants to move on from the show, Cami might stick around.
Danny ‘Gallino’ Morrell

Andy Garcia‘s character was introduced as the big bad at the end of season 1 and looms large for Tommy throughout season 2 – but how long can that storyline last? Gallino could be taken off the board, giving Tommy and Cami new problems to deal with, or he could get the chance to overpower Cami with M-Tex Oil, which would cement his future on the show for at least one season.
Cooper Norris

Emerson Miller/Paramount+The penultimate episode of season 2 ended with Cooper (Jacob Lofland) beat up the man who violently raped his fiancée Ariana (Paulina Chavez). Some viewers were concerned that Cooper will spend time in jail after the fight, so there’s a chance Cooper could face another aggressive beating that he won’t come back from.
Dale Bradley

Theodore “Boss” Ramone

Speaking of dying in the field, Mustafa speakscharacter recently hinted at his timeline for exiting the company. Those could be ominous words ahead of the season finale.
TL Norris

Tommy already thought his father was dead at one point, and those emotional scenes of TL watching sunsets don’t help the fandom’s theories. After finding solace with stripper turned physical therapist Cheyenne, could this lead to TL having the best days of his life leading up to his death?
Charlie Newsom

Last but not least, Rebecca’s (Kayla Wallace) new love story with a handsome geologist unfortunately causes Charlie (Guy Burnet) an important target when he goes to drill an oil rig somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
