What to expect at OpenAI’s DevDay 2025, and how to watch it

OpenAI is preparing to organize its third annual developer conference, Devday 2025, on Monday. The company says that more than 1500 people are planned to meet in Fort Mason in San Francisco for the ‘largest event’ of OpenAi, which contains announcements, keynotes of OpenAi -executives and a Vuurthat between CEO Sam Altman and old Apple designer Jony Ive.

From its sound, Devday 2025 is a grand representation of OpenAi’s rising dominance in Silicon Valley against giants such as Apple, Google and Meta. In the past year, the AI ​​models of Anthropic and Google have increasingly become capable of coding tasks and web design. OpenAi is forced to release better AI models at lower prices to stay in the race. In the background, Meta has built an impressive selection of AI talent in its new group, Meta Superintelligence Labs, which could become a different threat to OpenAi in the near future.

OpenAi unveiled a new AI model, GPT-4 Turbo in 2023 in 2023, and Altman shared his vision of a marketplace of AI agents called the GPT store. Altman was dropped off days later as CEO – only to return after a dramatic negotiating weekend. In 2024, OpenAi responded with a more modest conference and he announced some meaningful developer upgrades, such as an API for AI voice applications, but not much different.

Nothing is confirmed that it is launched on Devay 2025, which is burning many rumors. Perhaps OpenAi will finally reveal the AI-driven browser that he has worked on, or perhaps give an update about the AI ​​device that builds it with IVE and former Apple executives. It is also possible that there may be some updates with regard to the GPT store, which Openai has hardly discussed since it was launched last year.

DEVDAY 2025 starts at 10 am PT 6 October with an opening keynote from Altman, in which he is planned to “reveal announcements, live demos and a vision of how developers reform the future with AI.” The keynote takes about an hour and will be implemented OpenAi’s YouTube page.

That is the only event that becomes live stream for external attendees.

For personal attendees there will be presentations and conversations on the stage of Cursor Michael Truell, Burgemeester Daniel Lurie, San Francisco, and including Andreessen Horowitz investment partner Kimberly Tan. Finally, Altman and IVE will give PT a “closing fireside chat” at 4.15 pm to discuss the “craft of building in the age of ai”. That conversation takes approximately 45 minutes.
