What Sofia Pernas’ Tracker Return Means for Justin Hartley’s Love Life
Justin Hartley‘s wife Sofia Pernas returns for season 3 of Follower – but what does it mean for Colter’s love life?
During an exclusive interview with We weeklyexecutive producer Elwood Reid confirmed Pernas’ return, saying, “She’s coming back. We’ve got a really good, spicy midseason finale and Billie’s coming back in the winter premiere.”
Pernas, 36, reprising her role as Billie doesn’t mean Colter will finally settle down.
“It’s tricky because he’s never in one place for very long. These are conversations I have with Justin all the time. One thing I think that makes the show work is that early in each episode you get an emotional hook with Colter about wanting to help the person who asked him for help,” Reid explained. “It feels weird when he says, ‘Hey, wait a minute, I’m going to have a five-minute booty call in the middle of the episode.’ So that’s something we didn’t do.”
After teasing Colter and Billie’s connection, the fictional couple took their relationship to the next level in season 2. Reid hinted that Follower will build on that momentum while expanding Billie’s individual storyline.
“The challenge with Billy is [that] she is a fellow tracker. She does what Colter does. So when you have her in an episode, you always have to think of something that they can both do,” he noted. “They’re both two alphas when they’re together. We found a really fun way to use her this season.”
Follower It is the third time that Pernas has worked with her husband. Hartley, 48, first shared the screen with Pernas The young and the restless in 2015. Years later, they reconnected off-screen and exchanged vows in 2021. Along with Followerthey worked together on the short run Quantum Leap restart.
“She’s amazing. I mean, if I had the choice, I would spend every minute with her,” Hartley told Us in July 2024. “What’s really cool is when you meet someone who means so much to you, that you’re so proud to be with and be so proud of, and be such a fan of, and to see her work, because she’s such a talented actor. She takes scenes to the next level, and so it actually makes my job easier. But yeah, it’s so… just wonderful to work with her.”

Besides Pernas, Follower has also struck gold with a wide variety of guest stars who continue to return, including Jensen Ackles, Melissa Roxburgh And Jennifer Morrison. Reid specifically addressed Ackles’ return in season 3 — and whether his scenes are setting up for a spinoff.
“I just threw [spinoff hints] there hoping fans do some work. We just added some teases to these two upcoming episodes. [Jensen and Justin] [are] it’s so much fun together and they complement each other in a weird way,” Reid added. “Jensen doesn’t do what Justin does and Justin doesn’t do what Jensen does. They are so interesting to watch together and then they play off each other in such an interesting way.”
He continued, “I’ll take Jensen whenever he’s available. I text him all the time and ask him about it. Right now he’s working on the spinoff of The Boys for pay. But you never know. I put it in those scripts and I’m dangling it there. Hopefully the audience will respond to it and hopefully the network will take notice. But Jensen is someone I’ve loved writing for for a long time.”
Follower returns to CBS on Sunday, October 19 at 8pm ET before streaming on Paramount+ the following day.
