Wes Scantlin of Puddle of Mudd arrested after standoff with SWAT
Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin was arrested after a traffic stop turned into a tense standoff… with police eventually using pepper spray to get him out of his car… according to police.
Burbank police tell TMZ that Wesley was arrested Wednesday … after they stopped his black Hummer H2 in Burbank for a traffic violation and asked him for his ID. Officers say they learned Scantlin had an active arrest warrant from a previous case for allegedly possessing a weapon at an airport.
We’re told when officers asked Wesley to get out of the car, he refused … and after several attempts, a crisis negotiator came to negotiate, but police say he still wouldn’t budge.
Our sources tell us that spray was then deployed, but even that didn’t help, forcing SWAT to come in around 4 a.m. and smash the car window to shoot non-lethal pepper balls so he finally surrendered and went outside. the car.
We’re told he was taken to the hospital to have his eyes flushed with the peppercorns, but he was ultimately fine.
Wes was subsequently booked into jail for the outstanding warrant and new charge of resisting arrest. We’re told he was subsequently summoned and released, with a court date of August 20.
