Watch Mickey Rourke Rage in Filmmaker’s Unauthorized Actor Biopic

He is known for his short temper – and RadarOnline.com can reveal that Mickey Rourke’s latest tantrum is against a ‘rogue’ filmmaker who he believes is making an unauthorized film about his stormy life.
The former 1980s star has just suffered a ‘humiliating and embarrassing’ GoFundMe campaign set up to help him pay his rent.
And Radar may reveal that he is also filled with anger. A filmmaker is making the rounds saying he has a movie about Rourke on the way.
He vented in a video posted online: “Hi, all my friends on Instagram or wherever you are, there’s a guy named Chris out there trying to write some kind of biography about me without my permission.
“So, every one of the three or four directors I’ve worked with this year, whoever is in movies or whatever or whoever is from the gym, a guy named Chris comes up and says, ‘Oh, Mickey – I’m writing a story about Mickey,’ or whatever, tell the guy to go himself because he doesn’t have my permission and I’m not really happy about it. OK, thanks.”
It comes after Rourke reportedly owed $59,100 in rent on his Los Angeles home. Reports of his apparent hardship prompted him to set up a crowdfunding campaign to help him pay his bills.
But hours after news of the launch emerged, Rourke made an angry online video warning that he has nothing to do with the charity drive and urging his fans not to donate a cent to the fundraiser.
In a video on his Instagram page, he said angrily: “Something has come up that I’m really frustrated and confused about and I don’t understand. Someone has set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money to charity, and it’s not me.
‘Okay. If I need money, I would rather not ask for charity. I’d rather stick a gun in my a– and pull the trigger.’ So whoever did this, I don’t know… why they did it. I don’t understand. I would never in a million years know what a GoFundMe foundation is.”
“My life is very simple, I don’t go to such outside sources, and yes, it’s embarrassing, but I’m sure I’ll get over it like everything else,” said the Wrestler star added.
Rourke also admitted that he has had financial problems in recent years, blaming his troubles on a lack of acting work during the COVID pandemic and the Hollywood strikes.
He added: “Listen, I did a very poor job of managing my career. I was not diplomatic. I had to go through over twenty years of therapy to overcome the damage that was done to me years ago. I worked very hard to get through that. And I’m not that person anymore… I’m not that wild man that I was… but you pay the price for that.”
He added that the GoFundMe page called Support Mickey to Prevent Eviction is not authorized.
He insisted: “This is very embarrassing, and if you gave money… don’t give money, and if you gave money, get it back. Whether you gave cash or a check, or whoever you sent it to, and I’m going to talk to my lawyer… to get to the bottom of this.”
“There’s only one person I can think of who would do something like that, and I hope that’s not the person I’m thinking of. It’s humiliating,” he continued. “If I needed money and I borrowed money from a really good friend of mine, I’ll eventually say who it was, and he got me out of trouble — you know, COVID and the writers’ strike killed my money.”
Rourke added that he has had problems with his rental property in Los Angeles, but he is adamant that he has stopped paying rent because the landlords have not resolved the problems with the house, and said the matter will be fought out in court.
He explained, “I was in a really bad situation with the place I was renting. Everything was good for five or six years, and then two assholes from New York bought the house, and they didn’t want to fix anything, so I said, ‘I’m not paying rent because there are mice, there are rats, the floor is rotten, one bathtub has no water, and two different sinks have no water.’
“And this (GoFundMe) all came at the same time. I don’t know if those guys, those assholes, are behind it… We’re going to court, but I would never ask strangers, fans or anyone for a nickel. I mean, that’s not my style.”
Rourke said: It’s humiliating, and it’s really fucking embarrassing… they said it could be up to $100,000 and I wouldn’t take a cent from any charity, from anyone. So we’ll get to the bottom of this and like all storms pass this way, I’ll go back to work and things will go back to normal.
