VPR’s Scheana Shay proves she didn’t photoshop a family photo in Hawaii
Vanderpump Rules alum Scheana Shay anticipates Photoshop’s accusations.
Shay, 39, shared a Christmas-themed photo from Hawaii on Wednesday, December 25, with the caption: “Mele Kalikimaka from the Davies family! 🎅🏻.” That same day, the reality star took to her Instagram Story to confirm that she was actually in Oahu with husband Brock Davies and their 3-year-old daughter, Summer.
“Haters will say it’s photoshopped… proof we were here,” Shay captioned a video of her, Davies, 34, and Summer preparing to take the photo. “Merry christmas!”
Shay, who became famous after appearing in the series Vanderpump Rules has often used social media for a decade to address rumors — and to address Bravo viewers who have criticized her.

The latest joke among fans is how everything affects Shay, while it is said that she is introverted. ‘I feel like something is finally about me. I have to laugh when I see this,” Shay said on her “Scheananigans” podcast in April. “I even retweeted and responded to people because I was like, ‘You know what? I like to be in on the joke.”
Shay became the butt of the joke after her comments in season 11 about how deeply affected she was Tom Sandoval‘s affair with Rachel ‘Raquel’ Leviss – which caused his divorce Ariana Madix.
“I’m just still in pain. Why can’t there ever be a moment where it’s about me? I am hurt,” she said Lala Kent during a March episode. “I have lost a very, very dear friend. I have trouble with that. But I’m not allowed to feel anything, because it’s only about Ariana. I’m tired.”
The stars of Vanderpump Rules are no strangers to controversy. Later in the season, Shay surprised people when she said she wanted to be a contestant Dancing with the stars years before Madix, 39, got the chance. The reaction on social media caused Shay to clarify what she actually meant.
“That was my honest emotion at that moment, and no matter how cringe-worthy I am at times, I never regret sharing it. That is literally my job here,” she explained in her podcast in March. “This season I took pride in trying to be the most open and honest version of myself – even if the audience sometimes disagreed with me.”
Shay added: “I’ve gone way out of my comfort zone this season and I hope you guys can show me some grace and just understand that a lot of the things we’re dealing with are relatable. I’m putting it all out there because I hope it helps people who have been through similar things.”
The close friendship between Scheana Shay and Ariana Madix has been documented on Vanderpump Rules for years. Despite the current distance between them, Madix came to Shay’s rescue. Madix became involved in the drama in August when the official Instagram account for the Chicago Broadway musical shared a video of her with the caption, “One of the hardest working women we know! @arianamadix is only with us until September 1st!”
In the social media clip, Madix listed her busy schedule for the summer, which includes her cohosting gig on Love Island USA, performing more than 100 shows in Chicago on Broadway and an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
Bravo viewers took the opportunity to poke fun at Madix’s then-costars, with one fan writing, “I know @scheana is up in the air because you’re booked and busy lol 💀💀💀.” Madix responded by defending Shay, adding, “Let’s stop this ❤️.”
