“AVO continues to monitor activity on Mount Spurr for signals that indicates that the volcano is getting closer to an eruption.”
The US Geological Survey (USGS) has also discovered hundreds of vibrations in the area, including a considerable force 3.7 Quake near Petersville on 2 April.

The constant seismic activity and gas emissions of Mount Spurr suggest an imminent eruption, possibly within a few weeks or months.
The top crater of the Volcano did not break out in 5000 years, but the side ventilation – crater peak – broke out 30 years ago for the last time.
If it bursts again, it is probably comparable to the eruption of 1992, which anchorage covered in ashes and caused considerable disturbances.
Recent emissions and vibrations have scientists on a high alert, and if the activity continues, a volcanic tremor can indicate the next phase of eruption.
