UNIWORLD REVEALS FIRST LOOK AT NEW SUPER SHIPS TO DEBUT IN 2027 | News

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has unveiled the first renderings of its newest superships debuting in 2027, the SS Audrey and SS Marlene, inspired by screen icons Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich respectively.

The sister ships will bring two different design visions to Europe’s rivers, building on the iconic aesthetic of the celebrated actresses, while continuing Uniworld’s tradition of design-driven ships that reflect the regions they sail.

“Unique design has always been central to the Uniworld experience,” said Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld. “With the SS Audrey and SS Marlene, we celebrate two women whose style defined an era. These ships bring their spirit to life through thoughtful details and spaces created to deepen our guests’ connection to the destinations along the journey, and we are excited to provide a sneak peek inside.”

First look: SS Audrey
The SS Audrey draws inspiration from the timeless style of Audrey Hepburn and mid-20th century Europe – the era that defined her career – and integrated sophisticated modern design throughout the ship. Guests will find interiors with a palette of green, gold and blue, complemented by vibrant accents, geometric patterns and artistic tributes to the iconic actress.

Like sister ship SS Emilie, which will debut in 2026, SS Audrey will feature a layout designed to enhance the onboard experience, including an intimate aft bar lounge, a bookable private dining room for exclusive culinary moments and the ability to combine adjoining suites to create spacious two-bedroom accommodations for families or groups traveling together.

The SS Audrey will begin sailing on April 16, 2027, with its first departure on the ‘Remarkable Rhine & Historical Holland’ route (from £3,104 pp). Throughout the season, the ship will sail a mix of returning guest favorites alongside two new voyages debuting in 2027: ‘Paris, Prague and Germany’s Hidden Gems’ (from £4,814 pp) and Scenic Rhine, Paris and the Swiss Alps’ (from £5,084 pp).

First look: SS Marlene
The SS Marlene pays tribute to the striking presence and timeless beauty of German-born actress and singer Marlene Dietrich. The interior reflects her bold aesthetic, combining warm brown and gold tones with dramatic accents of pink, red and blue in selected spaces. The ship can accommodate up to 154 guests and features signature Uniworld amenities including a restaurant, lounge, private dining room, spa and fitness center.

The SS Marlene will begin sailing on March 27, 2027, with its first departure on the ‘Tulips & Windmills’ route (from £3,419pp). The ship will also sail the waterways of Central Europe on other classic itineraries such as ‘Enchanting Danube’ (from €2,719 pp) and ‘Delightful Danube’ (from €2,564 pp), offering guests a new way to experience the region’s historic towns and cultural attractions.

Continued supership expansions in 2027
In addition to Audrey and Marlene, Uniworld will also welcome the SS São Rafael, a new supership that will sail the Douro River in Portugal, in 2027. The ship can accommodate up to 94 guests and expands the brand’s capacity in one of Europe’s most sought-after wine regions. The latest addition to the Uniworld fleet is the Aqua Blu, a sleek expedition yacht operated in partnership with Aqua Expeditions, offering access to the islands of Indonesia and Singapore with up to 30 guests on board.
With these firsts, Uniworld’s entire fleet will consist of Super Ships by 2027, offering travelers the most luxurious and design-forward river cruise experiences on the rivers of Europe and beyond.
