Universal Studio Group has appointed Jonder Ho as SVP of Business Affairs
Universal Studio Group has promoted Jonder Ho to senior vice president of business affairs.
In his new role, Ho will negotiate writer, actor, director and other above-the-line deals for the studio group – which includes Universal Television, UCP, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Universal International Studios – with a focus on productions including “ Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” “Hacks” and NBCU’s untitled Greg Daniels/Michael Koman project.
Ho will also act as a direct liaison to relevant stakeholders, both externally and within the studio, including development, current programming, casting, production, legal and more.
Most recently, Ho served as vice president of business affairs for USG’s Universal Television. He has been with the studio, which is headed by chairman Pearlena Igbokwe, for eight years.
As senior vice president of corporate affairs for USG, Ho will report directly to Blossom Lefcourt, Universal Studio Group’s global head of corporate affairs.
“Jonder has been a tremendous asset to Universal Studio Group and we are pleased to expand his role,” said Lefcourt. “Over the past eight years, he has secured high-profile talent and programming agreements to support all stakeholders and help build our extensive program.”
Before joining NBCUniversal, Ho spent two years as head of business affairs at a VR content startup founded by Robert Stromberg, the Academy Award-winning production designer of “Avatar and Alice in Wonderland.” Ho started his career as an associate at the law firm Morrison Foerster.
Ho is a graduate of Pomona College and received his law degree from the University of Southern California.
