Universal Music Group is sued by a man who claims that he has worked with huge acts as Johnny CashDistorted sister and Shania Twain And more than $ 72 million owes for unpaid services.
In the court case, obtained by TMZ, called a man Gary Douglas Peabody claims that Johnny Cash called him in 1970 and asked him to come to New York to be signed as a singer or back -up singer and writer. He says that cash worked for UMG.
He claims that Johnny recalled him again in 1974 and told him that UMG $ 25 million owed him … asked him to come to NY to collect the funds.
Peabody claims in 1993, Twisted Sisters Dee Snyder Called him on the phone and told him that he owed $ 10 million for texts he wrote for the band, which was signed at UMG.
He also claims that he has done backup texts via the phone for UMG … and says that he was told that the numbers he was working generated $ 100 million.
Peabody claims Shania Twain in 1996, who was signed at UMG, called him and discussed a backup track.
He says that UMG Reps called him in 2015 and asked him for lyrical services, which he says he delivered by telephone … and he claims that he refused a vacancy with UMG in 2017 because he was not paid for earlier services.
Peabody claims that he contacted UMG about paid in April 2025 and did not hear, so he has filed a lawsuit. He says he owes $ 72,325,000.
