Trump to give Charlie Kirk Presidential Medal of Freedom

Donald Trump announced that he will give Charlie Kirk the presidential freedom medal posthumously after being killed while spoke at a university campus in Utah.

“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of Liberty and an inspiration for millions and millions of people,” Trump said on Thursday morning, held a 9/11 commemoration speech in the Pentagon. “We miss him enormously, but I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he has put in the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live.”

The medal of freedom is considered the highest civil honor in the United States, intended for people with exceptional contributions to world peace, national security or American cultural efforts. In his first term, Trump gave the presidential medal of freedom to rock icon Elvis Presley, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, wave legend Tiger Woods and conservative radio pioneer Rush Limbaugh, among others. Kirk, a Trump all-way fellow and the co-founder of the right-wing Advocacy group Turn Point USA, was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon during a appearance at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old media personality debated on students about different political topics when a bullet hit his neck and his safety hurried to the hospital. Graphic videos of the shooting circulated on social media, and politicians from both sides of the aisle shared prayed for Kirk, which is credited to help waving the youth voice red in the 2024 elections.

About 90 minutes after Kirk was shot down, Trump announced that he had died on the Truth Social, Writing: “The big and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. Nobody understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and now he is no longer with us.

The shooter is still free from Thursday morning, because the FBI and various local law enforcement agencies are investigating the murder.
