Travel promoters appointed as UK and European representatives for Mhondoro Safari Lodge & Villa | News

Travel promoters has announced his appointment as Sales & Marketing Representatives for Mhondoro Safari Lodge & Villa, located in South Africa’s Welgevonden Game Reserve in Limpopo Province.
Located in a 35,000 hectare private reserve in the Waterberg District, Welgevonden is known for its rich biodiversity and leadership in conservation. The reserve is home to the world’s largest concentration of endangered white rhinos living on private land, protected by a highly skilled, world-class anti-poaching unit.
Founder of Travel Promoters, Ailsa Tavarescommented: “We are very proud to welcome Mhondoro to our portfolio, especially as we approach the busy exhibition season, and look forward to sharing updates on this special property with our tour operator partners.”

Widely regarded as a benchmark for luxury safaris in the region, Mhondoro can accommodate up to 24 guests across a collection of suites and a private villa. Accommodation includes a honeymoon suite, two luxury pool suites, an executive suite, two family suites and the exclusive Mhondoro Villa, which can accommodate six guests.
The lodge offers panoramic views over a frequently visited watering hole and offers a distinctive safari experience via a 65 meter tunnel leading to an underground shelter close to the water’s edge. Guests can enjoy guided open-air game drives, rhino tracking, bush walks with experienced rangers, stargazing and excursions to nearby rock art sites. Wellness is also key, with spa treatments available in a dedicated Spa Suite overlooking the waterhole, alongside curated retreats and gourmet dinners, complemented by an extensive wine selection.

Welgevonden’s malaria-free status and accessibility (less than a three-hour drive or an hour’s flight from Johannesburg) make it particularly attractive for multi-generational travel. The lodge offers child-friendly “Bumble” game drives, an extensive children’s program and childcare. Families staying at Mhondoro Villa benefit from a private vehicle and guide, with no age restrictions on game drives.

Owners Frank and Myriam Vogel added: “We are delighted to be working with Travel Promoters to strengthen and grow our market share in the UK and Europe, and we look forward to engaging with the industry to share our unique offering. We are also proud to announce the acquisition of Izingwe Lodge in the south of Welgevonden Game Reserve. Following renovation, the property will be relaunched as Mhondoro Southern Residence, accommodating up to eight guests on an exclusive basis.”
The Travel Promoters team will visit the property ahead of Africa’s Travel Indaba to experience the lodge first-hand and support ongoing trade engagement. The team will also attend ITB Berlin and the Four Africa Workshops in Cirencester and London in March, as well as take part in the digital trade fair OurAfrica.Travel.
