Tommy’s father moves in, Rebecca joins

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from “Landman” Season 2, Episode 4, “Dancing Rainbows,” which premiered Sunday, December 7 on Paramount+.

This week’s episode of “Landman” is quite depressing: it starts with a suicide attempt and the rest of the episode talks to and about the dead. There’s a lot of regret, but it ends on a high note: a new family bond is forged AND one of our main characters gets laid! Read on to analyze all of the week’s big moments, from the cemetery to the bedroom.

  • ‘Keep Your Hands to Yourself’ by the Georgia Satellites is the perfect one-trick pony. Just hearing the episode start makes me want to have a bar fight.
  • The ‘Landman’ team always films a convincing car accident. What a mess!
  • Why didn’t Cooper (Jacob Lofland) sleep in his truck instead of on the ground?
  • “I want you everywhere.” Ah, okay, Cooper, that’s kind of cute. You’ll win her back!
  • I’m glad I’m an old married man and not in the dating scene. Ariana (Paulina Chávez) told Cooper to leave so he left but she wanted him to fight for her but he didn’t because he gave her space… I’m not saying anyone’s feelings are wrong but just communicate directly here people! It’s tiring!
  • Oh no, now I’m afraid Dale (James Jordan) is accidentally going to OD on Adderall!
  • Ooh, who is this hunk sitting next to Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) on the private plane?
  • There’s nothing sarcastic to say about Cami talking to her husband’s grave – as usual, Demi Moore is fantastic on this show. Emmy, please!
  • Very nice to see the always poised Rebecca lose her stuff and make a scene during this turbulent flight. Besides, you have to like unintentional flirting!
  • The look Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) gives when Angela (Ali Larter) suggests her “Sexy Salsa” playlist for the road trip is comedy gold.
  • Thornton’s talent for uttering profanity is of the highest order. Please enjoy how he makes a meal of the word “f-UCK-ing” in the sentence “We’re driving to a damn funeral!” That’s acting!
  • Angela and Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) always calling Nate “Neil” is a great running gag.
  • Asking: “Who are these damn clowns?” is a great way to meet new people.
  • Damn, I bet the food at a roadside place called “The Bucket” is so good. And those corn dogs would call my name too…
  • Tommy’s story about his mother is so sad I can barely eat my cornbreads!
  • Crying as TL (Sam Elliott) tells the story of the sprinkler rainbow.
  • Wasted Rebecca seems fun!
  • Oh, Tommy will turn heel when he hears that Cami met with Gallino (Andy Garcia) and may have further jeopardized the company.
  • Obsessed with Gallino’s relationship with Bella (Stefania Spampinato). Is this the healthiest marriage to ever happen on a Taylor Sheridan show?
  • I don’t think I really understood Gallino’s snake and hawk metaphor, but hey, they made a deal!
  • What a terrible turn for Jerrell (Elijah Collins) after that gas leak. I hope he gets better!
  • “Save the Last Dance” as Ainsley’s comfort film is a good choice.
  • Oh no – this tragic backstory of SIDS explains so much.
  • Ah, Rebecca, it’s okay that you had fun! Embrace it!
  • Hooray, grandpa is coming to live there! Let’s shake things up!
  • “I’m not sure I deserve this.” Oh, okay… one last shout before we wrap things up.
