‘Tomb Raider’ star Martin Bobb-Semple signs with CAA

Martin Bobb-Semple, the fast-rising British actor who recently landed a leading role in the upcoming live-action series ‘Tomb Raider’ at Amazon MGM Studios, has signed with CAA.
Bobb-Semple was last seen as regular Orlando “Lando” Johnson in “All American: Homecoming.” He started as a recurring character and was elevated to a series lead in season 3. Before that, he starred in two seasons of Peacock’s “One of Us is Lying” and was the lead in “Free Reign” for Netflix.
But the highly anticipated “Tomb Raider” – now in production – looks to take the actor’s star to a new level.
Led by Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, Bobb-Semple plays Zip, one of Croft’s key allies and her trusted technical support and friend, in a major regular role in the series. In the games, Zip works primarily from the security room in the main hall of Croft Manor, providing Croft with crucial information during her quests.
Bobb-Semple’s name was actually the first mentioned after Turner’s when Amazon formally announced the full cast earlier this month, ahead of Jason Isaacs and Bill Paterson, also confirmed in canon roles. Other stars in the video game adaptation – created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who will also serve as showrunner – include Sigourney Weaver, Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon and John Hefferman.
Bobb-Semple made his acting debut in the production of “Oliver Twist” in London’s West End before training at the Identity School of Acting. From there he later booked his first TV role with the BBC.
He will continue to be represented in the UK by Femi Oguns and Ikki El-Amriti at Identity Agency Group (IAG).
