Timothée Chalamet accused of breaking friendships with his ‘huge ego’

The Marty Supreme The star has run an unconventional awards campaign, crashed his own lookalike competition, acted as a football commentator and coordinated fluorescent red carpet looks with girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

In a recent interview, he stated, “My superpower is my fearlessness,” adding that critics can say “whatever they want.”

He also described friends who brag about no longer having children as “gloomy”, suggesting fatherhood could be “on the radar”.

An insider familiar with Chalamet’s environment said: “The combination of Timmy’s meteoric rise and his relationship with Kylie has fundamentally reshaped his world. The close friendships he formed in his early 20s have gradually disappeared, and there’s a sense that he hasn’t built anything as good a foundation to replace them. For those who knew him before the premieres, the campaigns and the global branding, this version of Timmy feels different: more polished, more strategic, less spontaneous.”

There is a real question among some of his old friends as to whether the sacrifice was worth it.

“From the outside, it may seem like he is accelerating at full speed, chasing every award and every headline,” the source said. “He rides the wave of his own publicity, and sometimes it borders on overdrive. When he and Kylie appear together, it can feel hyper-curated, almost mechanical. What people associated with him miss is the warmth and relatability he once projected. At this point, some feel that ambition is taking center stage — to the point where it seems as if he has become possessed by a ballooning ego and would trade almost anything for that Oscar moment.”
