TikTokers Abbey And Matt Howard pay the costs of their hospital bill after a miscarriage.

“We are currently sitting on a $35,000 bill for the miscarriage,” Abby said on the Wednesday, December 31 episode of their miscarriage. “Unplanned” podcast.

Abby explained that the couple received three bills – one for more than $32,000, and the other two for more than $1,000 each. She noted that the bills are “well and done” but “at this point they are overdue.”

“I can’t even mentally begin to tackle those bills and look through that with everything I’m already dealing with from those days in the hospital and everything, figuring that out. I’m like, ‘Wow,'” Abby said.

TikTok influencer Abby Howard broke down in tears as she shared her miscarriage story on her and husband Matt Howard’s podcast “Unplanned.” On the Wednesday, October 8, episode Abby, 26, was emotional but willing to discuss her recent pregnancy loss, noting to listeners that “if any part of this episode doesn’t serve you or […]

She continued, “Obviously people need to be compensated for the health care they did for me that day. I’m not saying that. I’m not mad at the doctors, I’m not mad at the nurses. I’m actually so incredibly grateful for them. But I also know that this doesn’t go into their pockets. So it’s just so messed up.”

Abby further noted that she will “never forget” that 10 days after she suffered the miscarriage, she received a text message telling her she owed $35,000.

“I know I’m not the only person who has received a bill like this after something like this,” she said. “The fact is that many people go to the hospital for reasons not of their choosing, accidents or just very unfortunate health conditions. This is just the terrible icing on the cake: it can ruin people financially.”

The couple shared in September that they lost their baby for weeks after confirming Abby’s pregnancy. (Matt and Abby, who tied the knot in 2019, also share sons Griffin, 3, and August, 2.)

TikTok couple Matt and Abby Howard won’t reveal the details of their baby’s health prior to their pregnancy loss. “I think we’re going to keep all of her specific medical stuff private, just like we would with our other children,” Abby, 26, said during the Wednesday, Oct. 22 episode of their “Unplanned” podcast. Matt, 27, agreed, […]

“During a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat. Soon after, they sent us for an ultrasound, where the technician said words we’ll never forget: ‘I’m so sorry I don’t have good news,'” they wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time. “Then we got the gender reveal we never hoped for, as well as the news that our baby had a genetic condition that killed her around the 17th week of pregnancy.”

Matt and Abby wrote at the time that the “news felt unimaginable” and “the grief is absolutely devastating.”

“But we feel so much gratitude for the time we had with her. And we still have hope. Hope has continued to show up for us in so many ways,” they continued. “For now, we will grieve and continue to think of ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you everyone for celebrating this precious life with us these past 17 weeks.❤️.”

The following month, Matt spoke about Abby’s pregnancy loss for the first time.

“Before we get started, I want to thank everyone for connecting with Abby and I during this very challenging time,” Matt said on an episode of their “Unplanned Podcast,” adding that Abby was far enough along in her pregnancy that their baby could hear her voice. “She had a heartbeat. She had little hands, little fingers, little toes. We’re still processing that.”

He concluded, “Thank you for being patient with us at this time. This was a pre-recorded episode that we decided to still share with you. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers at this time.”
