TikTok is restoring US service after Donald Trump said he would bring the app back
TikTok will be back online in the United States on Sunday, just hours after the president-elect Donald Trump announced he would issue an executive order Monday to reinstate the platform.
Not long ago, TikTok released a statement explaining: “In accordance with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will not face penalties as TikTok reaches more than 170 million Americans and enables more than 7 million small businesses to thrive.”

They continued: “It is a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”
ICYMI…Donald Trump took to Truth Social this morning with a powerful message: write »SAVE TIKTOKin one message.
He then wrote that he planned to issue an executive order on Monday — the same day he will be inaugurated as the country’s 47th president — protecting the app.
Trump mentioned the possibility for the United States to take a 50% ownership position in the app… which would dilute ByteDance’s control of the company.

As we told you… Trump told an NBC News reporter on Saturday that he would “most likely” pause the ban for 90 days, as stipulated in the law. This executive order shows much stronger support for the app – and will likely put many influencers at ease.
Worth noting… this bond was passed by Congress last year – and there are very specific conditions attached to extending the pause on the ban. It is not clear at this time whether an executive order would be sufficient to extend the period.

Either way, it looks like Trump is on the side of influencers and content creators – as many thought he would be… and we’ll have to wait and see what happens with the popular social media app.
