‘The summer I was, was nice’ to end with season 3 at Amazon

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is now to end with the upcoming third season at Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon made the last season announcement on Friday. It was previously announced that the show would be back for season 3, but it was not known that it would be the last season so far. Per Amazon will debut the last season in July, but no exact premiere date has been set at the time of this publication. It will consist of 11 episodes.

The move is not entirely unexpected, because the show is based on the Jenny Han book trilogy of the same name, in which one book in the trilogy is corresponded to each season. The show originally debuted in 2022, with season 2 in 2023.

Han serves as a co-showrunner next to Sarah Kucserka. Both are also executive producers together with Karen Rosenfelt as well as Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Mads Hansen for Wiip. The series is a co -production of Amazon Studios and Wiip.

Han’s books have previously been adapted in the film franchise “To All the Boys” at Netflix, while she is also an executive producer in the series “XO, Kitty” at Netflix. That show is a spider -off of the films “to all the boys” with Anna Cathcart in the lead role and was recently renewed for a third season.
