‘The Studio’ and ‘The Penguin’ Win Location Managers Guild Awards

Emmy opportunities ‘The Studio’, ‘1923’ and ‘The Penguin’ were among the winners of the 12th annual Location Managers Guild International Awards, presented on Saturday evening in the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Calif.
The Motion Picture Awards went to “A Complete Unknown”, which was filmed in New Jersey and “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning”, Lens in England, Norway, South Africa and Malta.
“The Studio” was shot in Los Angeles and Las Vegas; “1923” in Texas and Montana; and “The Penguin” in New York City in Harlem, Brooklyn neighborhoods, De Bronx, Queens, Chinatown and Yonkers. Orient Express: “Artisan of Travel”, filmed in Belmond, won the excellent commercial category.
In addition, the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission received the Outstanding Film Commission Award for “A Complete Unknown”.
During the ceremony, which was organized by actress and producer Rachael Harris, more prizes were awarded to Spotlight International functions, television and commercials in which the creative use of film locations improved the tone, character and story of the story.
Kevin Costner was honored with the Eva Monley Award for his work on ‘Dances with Wolves’, ‘The Bodyguard’, ‘Field of Dreams’, ‘Yellowstone’ and, most recently, ‘Horizon: An American Saga’.
Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles was presented with the LMGI Humanitarian Award, where the organization was recognized for its dedication to have a significant impact on the lives of children and to fulfill their families by fulfilling a wish. The prize was awarded by Make-A-Wish representative, Don Pell and accepted by Aparna Pande, CEO of Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was Given to Veteran Location Manager Iilt Jones, Who was honored for his work on “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Inception,” “Iron Man 3,” “Kong: Skull Island,” “Black Panther: transformer” Franchise. The honor was presented by producer Ian Bryce.
Extra presenters were Keyla Montroso Mejia (“The Studio”), Carmen Christopher (“The Bear”), Maxwell Acee Donovan (“That ’90S Show”), Kate Linder (“Young and the Restless”) and Claire Brooks (executive director, AFCI), among others.
