The series ‘Unculomed Earth’ by Netflix adds three to Cast (exclusive)
The upcoming adjustment of the “Un -Customed Earth” series at Netflix has added three new series of regulars, Variety has learned exclusively.
Indraneil Sengupta, ADI Roy and Iyla Sundarsingh McKaig are all affiliated with the adaptation of the Jhumpa Lahiri Short Story collection alongside previously announced Ster Freida Pinto. The official logline for the show states:
” Unusual ‘earth is an epic, saponous and culturally lively drama about a close Indian American community that belongs and belong. Rich with nuance, passion and unforgettable characters, unwanted earth invites you to the elite and insular Indian-American community of Cambridge, Mon. When a star romance comes between a dedicated woman and a long-term woman comes from a scandalous affair and new combat lines are drawn in this intensely interconnected immigrant community. ”
Sengupta, who will play Jai, is known for his roles in films such as ‘Kahaani’, ‘Mishawr Rawhoshyo’, and the Indian drama series ‘Nimki Mukhiya’.
Roy, who plays Kahik, is known for the leading role in the Broadway productions “Aladdin” and “Jagged Little Pill”. His role in “Unculomed Earth” will mark his TV acting debut.
Sundarsingh McKaig, who plays Hema, recently appeared in the mini series “Toxic Town” and was previously in shows such as “Jamie Johnson” and “Emmerdale Farm.”
Roy is being invested by Buchwald and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Sundarsingh MCKAIG is returned by articulated desk.
“Unusual Earth” has received an eight episodes order. Madhuri Shekar acts as a writer, executive producer and showrunner. John Wells Executive produces through John Wells Productions (JWP). Ritesh Batra will direct and implement the first and second episodes. Nisha Ganatra, who originally chose the book and had developed the series, will also produce Executive. Lahiri will also perform executive products, together with Erica Saleh, Jontow from JWP and Celia Costas. Warner Bros. Television, where Wells has a general deal, will produce.
