Eric Winter

Winter will come back as Tim Bradford, who fans early for the last time at Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) To go to him, but she dived away and didn’t hear him.
“I think that cementing that conversation [between them] At the top of the next season and find out what the next [or] The right next step is, that must be our premiere, right? “Hawley told Us In May, noticing that the writers will find out from there “how Tim and Lucy go like a few.
Winter, meanwhile known TVLINE In May he is not sure how Tim will continue after he has put his heart at stake. “I am actually very curious about that,” he said. “He has to do a lot of claims control.”
Melissa O’Neil

O’Neil will resume her role as Lucy Chen, but the new sergeant will not be much longer in the night shift. “I don’t think it’s an obstacle,” Hawley teased. “The challenge of the night shift was fun in the final, but in the end I don’t think we’ll live there too long.”
The executive producer also told fans in San Diego Comic Con that Lucy will dive into police work this season. “We have an undercover Lucy story that we are now working on in the writer’s room,” he said via People.
Mekia Cox

This season Cox will return as the former Nolan training officer, Detective Nyla Harper. Although her storyline is not shared, Hawley said Us In May, fans Meer van Nyla and her husband, James Murray (see (Arjay Smith), after their rocky season 7.
“They certainly went through the fire a bit,” said the showrunner. “The inherent contradiction of his work and her job is still there. I think they have navigated it now. They are absolutely in a stronger place than early in season 7.”
Richard T. Jones

Jones returns as a lieutenant Wade Gray and his wife, Luna (Angela Parker), it is expected to appear in various episodes because the couple are still becoming strong.
When it comes to what Jones wants to see for Gray during season 8, he said exclusively Us In March that a cookoff between the Lieutenant and Rookie Miles Penn (Deric Augustine) would be nice. “I think that would just be a great episode of an episode that, you know, everyone is in a barbecue. That we have a competition. And they will be the judges,” he suggested.
Jenna Dewan

During San Diego Comic-Con, Hawley confirmed in July that Nolan’s wife, Bailey Nune, played by Dewan, flew to Prague for the season 8 premiere next to her TV armor. Just like in the past of the seasons, she remains part of the cast and remains the Nr. 1 lady of Nolan.
Shawn Ashmore

Ashmore will repeat his role as lawyer Wesley Evers, but Hawley told Us That the marriage of him and Angela is not tested in the midst of Monica’s return. (Corrupt lawyer Monica from Wesley prior to his relationship with the detective.)
“At this point Monica has such a bad blood with so many of our characters that I don’t know if she would shake things with Wesley and Angela,” Hawley said in the spring.
The showrunner also told TVLINE In April the Wesley arch can include running for DA after his boss was bent from the race. “We sniff around a bit where we should take that story, and it would certainly make sense to Wesley, who was a lawyer and very strongly believes in the rights of the mistakes of an unjust legal system,” Hawley mused. “He is an assistant -da, they don’t have much strength, so being the DA would give him the opportunity to shake things up. So we definitely kick the ties on that idea.”
Lisseth Chavez

Chavez has been playing Celina Juarez since season 5 and completes her Rookie training during season 7. She will return for season 8 – and her romance with Rodege Bronson (Zander Hawley) could continue, according to Hawley.
“I think they are both young, and so I don’t know we should define everything [and it] Does not have to be a relationship, “Hawley explained Us In May of the storyline of Celina and Rodge. “I am not 100 percent sure it is going, but I do think we are ultimately aware that we have some very strong relationships in the show.”
Deric Augustine

Augustine joined the cast during season 7 as Rookie officer Miles Penn. For season 8, the actor has been promoted to series regularly, TVLINE confirmed in July.
Showrunner Hawley said earlier Us That Miles ” Rookie years is not over ‘, so the writers are going to’ live in his Rookie year ‘for a while’. He teased: “I think there are many places to push. I mean, he is still trying to find out who he is in Los Angeles. He tried to start dating and that went very badly in the final. He lives in his car. That is clear, you know, an obstacle for him to overcome. I am excited to see where it goes.”
Patrick Keleher

Keleher played the controversial Rookie Seth Ridley, who lied about his past and his diagnosis of cancer before he was cut from the LAPD Mid-Wilshire Department. He returned later in season 7 after he claimed that his cancer diagnosis was an insurance camp and was again part of the training program. Seth was shot during season 7, episode 16, in line with service and needed his leg amputated.
While fans thought it was the last one to see from Seth, Hawley told TVLINE That may not be the case. “A little shockingly deserved to happen” with that character, the showrunner said in July, teasing: “And then we will see where it goes.”
