The moment Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Rift began revealed

Concerns about the treatment of staff reportedly became a major point of tension between the brothers. In early 2019, William reportedly confronted Harry with allegations that members of the Sussex household were struggling with working conditions.

In SaveHarry claimed the conversation escalated into a physical confrontation with William pushing him into a dog bowl. Sources close to the future king have disputed that version, describing Harry’s recollection as exaggerated, although the disagreement itself is not disputed.

According to Myers’ account, the dispute focused largely on complaints from staff who worked for Harry and Meghan. Some reportedly left their positions or struggled with the work environment.

Myers also writes a source who knew both couples well at the time suggested that William and Middleton felt the Sussexes had “an agenda.”

The source said: “They definitely thought the Sussexes’ behavior stemmed from something other than difficulty. The whole atmosphere between them was quite toxic.”

They added: “Meghan was optimistic, Kate found her aggressive. There was definitely hope on (Catherine’s) part that William could try to talk to Harry and sort things out, but that didn’t really happen… and at the end of the day she had three young children, who were her focus and she at least saw the inevitability of parting ways, although perhaps not to the extent of what ended up happening.”
