A student from the University of Pittsburgh was missing during her spring break to the Dominican Republic … and the authorities say she was strolling on the beach for the last time.
Sudiksha Konanki -A 20-year-old student-werd missing during a trip with her friends to Punta Cana, a small town on the eastern edge of the island nation.
Konanki was last seen at 4:50 am local time on Thursday in the Riu Republica Resort according to the poster of the missing persons who were shared online.
The same poster describes her as 5’3 “with black hair and mentions the clothes she wore when she disappeared. She wore a brown bikini, earrings, an ankle strap and multiple bracelets.
The University of Pittsburgh has released their own statement … and they work together with local authorities in Virginia and authorities in the DR to try to find Konanki.
Photos of rescue efforts from Defensa Civil – a search and rescue team – are posted online … with dozens of people in orange jackets who comb the island for Konanki from Saturday.
We have contacted the authorities for more information … so far, not a word back.
