Taylor Swift & Charli XCX’s Rumored Feud Timeline: Everything You Need to Know

In an August 2019 interview with Pitchforkthe Party 4 p.m hitmaker made surprising comments about Swift’s audience, saying the experience felt like she was “coming on stage and waving at five-year-olds.”

“I’ve done so much of it, and it really cemented my status as an underdog character, which I like now. But I just gotta own my own f—— s— finally,” Charli said, revealing that she never wanted to be an opening act again after her performance on Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour.

After her statements caused many reactions, she took action X to reiterate that there was “absolutely no shade and only love here.”

“Every tour I’ve been on with a different artist as the opening act has always taught me so much,” she said. “It’s always great to see other artists doing their thing, owning their stage and speaking their language to their devoted fans – and this was especially true on the Reputation tour.”

The following month she appeared on the British talk show Sunday brunch, where she talked about Swift.

“She’s a great businesswoman, and she’s really nice. She makes us feel so welcome. It feels like a girl gang on tour together, it’s really good,” Charli said.
