Struggling legend Sabu, the ‘dead defating maniac’, dead at 60

Once called “the suicidal, murderous, genocidal, deadly defating maniak,” Sabu was known for his high -flying, daredevil caprics, who aimed to push the boundaries in brutal competitions filled with tables, ladders, chairs and barbed wire. Sabu was a fixed value in the ECW wrestle scene and confirmed his inheritance as a pioneer during the hardcore wrestling tree in the nineties.

The cousin of the legendary wrestler The Sheik, Sabu kept the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice, claimed the World Vision Championship and picked up Tag -Team titles three times, making a remarkable stamp on the sport.

After an iconic career in independent promotions, Sabu made his WWE debut in 2006, shortly after the company had taken over ECW and tried to revitalize the brand with a new weekly show.

He appeared in Wrestlemania 23, where he was part of the historic ECW Originals team that triumphed the new breed in an exciting eight-man tag team competition on April 1, 2007. However, his WWE-Stint was short because he was only released a month later.

Sabu also made waves with stints in WCW, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and AAA, and he made a memorable return to the Ring in 2023, with special enforcement tasks during a match between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho for AEW.
