Spider -Man Voice Actor was afraid that the new Disney+ series would be ‘awake’
Hudson Thames, who speaks the titular web sling in the upcoming Disney+ show ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’, recently shared some concerns he had about leading Marvel’s latest animation series.
While speaking with Collider, Thames said that his “biggest fear” was that “your friendly neighborhood spider man” would be “annoying and awake”, but in the end the show was “great” after reading the script.
“I thought it was great. I mean, my biggest fear was that it would be annoying and woke up, and it wasn’t, “said Thames. “I had something like that: ‘Yes, this is great, it is so well written,’ as if it really feels. I am the eldest of five boys, so I have the feeling that I know what is happening in their lives and In high school, and it felt like it was justified. ”
“Woke” is a general term for those who are actively aware and take into account social justice issues such as those with regard to race, gender and sexual identity. The word has also become a derogatory label that is used by those who abolish various and inclusive media.
Disney in particular has come under fire in recent years due to conservative circles for alleged promotion of ‘Wakker’ reports in their films and TV programs, in which they are warmth of Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, President Trump and his own ex-activist investor Nelson Peltz of Florida, catching.
Other cast members in “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, who comes to Disney+ January 29, include Colman Domingo, Kari Wahlgren, Hugh Dency, Charlie Cox and Vincent d’Onofrio.
