‘South Park’ plays a White House demolition episode for Halloween

“South Park” will break from the typical release pattern for a special episode debuting on Friday night, timed to Halloween. The second episode of season 28, titled “The Woman in the Hat,” addresses the news of President Trump’s demolition of the East Wing of the White House and his plans to build a new ballroom on the grounds.

According to the logline released by Comedy Central, the events of the episode will include the White House dealing with “a disruptive ghost from the East Wing,” while “Stan worries that South Park has become too political.” A preview image from the episode, included above, shows Trump and his lover Satan overseeing the demolition of the White House. Another released sneak peek, shown below, shows leaders within the Trump administration, such as Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller, who appear to be haunted by a ghostly presence.

The episode premieres Friday at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. It replaces the show’s typical Wednesday timeslot. A new episode was scheduled to air on Wednesday, October 29, but an adjustment was completed the day before, with the network’s social media posts promoting the original air date since they were removed. Further episodes of South Park season 28 will air on Wednesdays, with dates currently scheduled for November 12, November 26 and December 10.

The final season of “South Park” premiered abruptly on October 15. The long-running animated comedy series aired its 27th season earlier this fall, but it ended after just five episodes and a sudden one-week delay for a sixth installment. The network had previously announced a 10-episode order for season 27. No details were provided as to why the series suddenly changed page to a different season.

However, Season 28 still picked up where Season 27 left off, focusing on skewering the Trump administration’s policies, honed around an ongoing, bad romance between the Commander in Chief and Satan.
