Sophia Bush joins ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in a recurring role

Sophia Bush, star of “One Tree Hill” and “Chicago PD,” is about to put on some clothes.

Bush has landed a recurring role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” portraying the ABC medical drama’s 21st season as Dr. Cass Beckman, a trauma surgeon described as “amiable, fun, and a little messy around the edges.”

She will make her “Grey’s” debut in the season’s sixth episode, airing Nov. 7 on ABC.

Bush is no stranger to playing a doctor. In 2022, she produced and starred in the CBS medical drama ‘Good Sam’, playing the role of Dr. Sam Griffith, a cardiac fellow and interim hospital chief. Her credits also include the “Chicago Med” and “Nip/Tuck” medical centers.

The actor also had roles in ‘Love, Victor’, ‘Partners’ and ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, and on the film side, her credits include ‘The Narrows’, ‘Incredibles 2’ and ‘False Positive’ name.

In addition to joining the ranks at Seattle Presbyterian, Bush will also reprise the role of Brooke Davis in a Netflix sequel series to “One Tree Hill,” in which she is an executive producer alongside her co-star Hilarie Burton Morgan, who played Peyton Sawyer. The two also host the “One Tree Hill” rewatch podcast “Drama Queens” with Bethany Joy Lenz.

Bush also hosts her own podcast, “Work in Progress,” which recently featured an episode featuring Bush’s past conversations with Kamala Harris about women’s access to health care. Recent guests include Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric and Natalie Portman.

She is represented by CAA and Entertainment 360.
