Snoop Dogg breaks the silence after daughter Cori announces the death of her child

Snoop Dogg has sent love to his daughter, Cori Broadusfollowing her announcement that her baby Codi died three weeks after the child’s release after a 10-month stay in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

The rapper, 54, (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) shared a family photo — featuring Cori — on Saturday, January 31 captioned the Instagram post with ‘sparkling heart’ and ‘prayer hands’ emojis. Fans supported the grieving Broadus family with condolence messages in the comments section to Snoop on Instagram.

“I’m so sorry for her and her husband’s loss of their child. This is very devastating news,” one fan replied. “I love me, Cory❤️I’m praying for their comfort, healing and peace. The little girl is now with the Lord and she is no longer suffering.🙏🏾 I’m really sad about this.”

Another commenter added: “My deepest condolences, prayers for the fam.”

Snoop Dog’s son, Cordell C. Broadusincluded an encouraging message for Cori as he posted the same family photo through his Instagram story on Saturday.

“Lil sis, we got you forever,” Cordell, 28, added.

Earlier in the day, Cori, 26, made the devastating announcement, sharing a black and white photo of herself cradling her daughter. (Codi was Broadus’ first child with fiancé Wayne Deuce.)

“On Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” she confirmed via her Instagram Story.

In a subsequent post, Cori struggled with the tragic loss that occurred less than a month after Codi was released from a lengthy stay in the intensive care unit.

“20 days later? Dawg I’m sick,” she wrote.

Deuce mourned his daughter with his own poignant words Instagram storywhich read, “I’ve been the saddest since you left me, Codi Dreaux. But I know you.” [are] in peace. Daddy will always love you.”

Cori previously shared on January 6 that she could finally bring Codi ‘home’. The baby spent ten months in the NICU because he was born three months premature in February 2025.

“Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all,” Cori wrote to her Instagram followers earlier this month.

The Mayo Clinic classifies a baby born before 28 weeks of pregnancy as extremely premature. Complications such as breathing problems, feeding problems and problems regulating body temperature can occur in babies born this prematurely.

Cori has been documenting her life as a mother in the NICU over the past ten months via her social media. She spoke to We weekly in September 2025 about her daughter’s resilience during her unexpectedly long hospital stay.

“That girl is so feisty. That’s a feisty girl. She’s so resilient and strong,” Cori said Us at the launch of Choc Factory at Thirteen Lune in Los Angeles. “She just has so much character. The doctors and nurses always say to me, ‘Your baby has her mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on. She can hear. She can see. Yes, the conditions are not what you thought they would be, but it could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little stunner.”

During that same interview in September 2025, Cori explained Us that she relied on hope and faith to get both her and Codi through such a difficult time.

“This morning I had a moment because this baby that arrived there after I had my baby, went home today and I broke down,” Broadus said. “Of course I’m happy, I’m ecstatic [for them] but it’s like, ‘Damn! You can go home. Our baby is still here.” But then it goes back to my faith. You must trust God and trust His plan. Everyone’s plan looks a little different. She goes home. Our journey home just looks a little different than the next baby, and so on.

Cori has had two very serious health problems over the years. She was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6 and later suffered a stroke in January 2024 at the age of 24.

“What really brought me closer to God was after I had a stroke,” she said Us last September. “I told him, ‘God, if you take me out of here, I’m going to tell the world about you and tell the world that you’re real.’ And He did just that. And He gets me through.”

Snoop Dogg shares three children with his wife, Shante Broadus: sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, and daughter Cori. The hip-hop icon also shares a son, Julian Corrie Broadus27, with Laurie Helmond.
