‘Smallville’ co-maker says that the animated sequel ‘is a bit off the table’

Co-maker Alfred Gough says that his animated sequel to “Smallville” will have to wait until Warner Bros. Ready with James Gunn’s “Superman”.

“Warners has clearly experienced a lot, and I think the fact that they are busy restart ‘superman’, unfortunately, I think, keeps our thing a bit off the table,” said Gough “Smallville” stars Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling on them Podcast “Talk Ville”. “Everything comes in some form, I recently read that they restart ‘Buffy’ for Hulu.”

Co -created by Gough and Miles Millar, “Smallville” ran for 217 episodes in 10 seasons on the CW. The show followed a teenager Clark Kent (Welling) and learned to use his super powers forever in the picturesque city of Smallville, KAN.

Gough added that another wrinkle in the follow-up series “Smallville” could be the “regime change” that took place in Warner Bros. In 2022, Gunn and Peter Safran, Co-Cos of DC Studios were called a then freshly struck production low to see the DC properties on the WB on the DC properties of WB.

“That’s the thing, I think the problem with most projects in development and/or a network is changing,” said Gough.

Gunn’s long -awaited “Superman”, which is planned for a release of 11 July, will serve as the litmus test for how his renewed DC studios will perish at a time when the cash register is plagued with superhero fatigue. The film plays David Corswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) and Isabela Merced (Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl).
