Sister Wives’ Kody Brown says he owes Robyn the biggest apology yet

Kody Brown has a heart-to-heart relationship with his wife Robin Brown in the last episode of Sister Womenconfessing that he may have neglected her during his three failed marriages.

“I have to stop the self-mockery. As far as you and I are concerned,” Kody, 56, tells Robyn, 47, in We weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek at the Sunday, January 4 episode after wrapping up his apology tour to his ex-wives.

“The only thing I’ve kind of retreated from is when you’re emotionally unsafe,” Robyn replies, seemingly on board with Kody’s new approach to their marriage. “That’s it.”

Kody notes that “some things I’ve done recently may help him be more present with Robyn,” referring to his encounters with exes Meri Brown, Janelle Brown And Christine Brown after their respective splits.

After taking a break, Kody turns to Robyn and actually sees her. “Thank you for being loyal,” he says in an emotional moment between the couple.

“Well, you deserve it. You earned it from me, honey. I’m here,” Robyn reassures her husband, whom she legally married in 2014 after spiritually tying the knot four years earlier.

Kody acknowledges that Robyn has always had his back, realizing almost at that moment that he never told her how much that meant as he struggled with his breakups.

“It hasn’t been very honest. I haven’t been very honest with you,” he admits. “I apologized to everyone. Despite how cruel they were. I apologized to them.”

Kody admits, “But you’ve never been rude. You’re never rude. You’re never unfaithful. I’ve apologized to everyone. I think I owe you an apology most of all.”

As Robyn absorbs Kody’s heartfelt apology, he continues to process his recent actions in a confessional interview.

“Holy cow, I apologized to everyone but you,” he tells Robyn’s cameras, calling her “the woman who was so supportive through all my BS, all my weakness, all my anger, all my ranting and ranting and complaining.”

If Sister Women Fans have learned in recent years that Kody’s multiple family began to fall apart one woman at a time starting in 2021.

His third wife, Christine, 53, announced in November 2021 that she and Kody had called it quits after more than 25 years together. Her choice to leave him and the larger polygamous family caused a ripple effect.

His second wife Janelle, 56, followed suit, announcing her divorce from Kody in December 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage.

Kody’s first wife, Meri — to whom he was legally married from 1990 to 2014 and then remained spiritually married for almost a decade afterward — confirmed in January 2023 that she and Kody had also split.

With each divorce, Kody grew a little more distant from his remaining wife Robyn, but she remained committed to him and their life – even though it was now monogamous.

During season 20 of Sister WomenKody traveled to all of his exes to apologize for the way they ended things and the negative comments he made about them during that dark time. Upon returning to Arizona, where he and Robyn live, he tells the cameras that he has found some peace.

“I would almost say a phoenix metaphor,” says Kody about his trip abroad Us‘ preview of this week’s episode. “This life we ​​had before has kind of burned down. I’m like.” [not] I burn it all so I forget. I want to remember it and cherish it and move forward with the lessons I learned from it in a relationship that is very beautiful, very safe and very whole.”

Robyn, meanwhile, tells the cameras that she’s happy with the positive changes she’s seen in Kody since he found closure.

“I think taking responsibility for his part in the marriage breakdown was something that gave him some peace and helped in his healing,” she says in the clip. “But then I also just see him breathe a sigh of relief. Like, ‘Okay, I’ve taken responsibility.'”
