Singer Mocks Fox News about Super Bowl -performance

Bad Bunny started season 51 of “Saturday Night Live” with a bilingual monologue who referred to his upcoming performance as the Super Bowl Half-Time Show Headliner and the right-wing return to the announcement.

“I am very happy,” he said about the chance. “And I think everyone is happy with it. Even Fox News.”

“SNL” then played a supercut of clips from the conservative news channel, which criticized the NFL for booking a Spanish -speaking artist, who drawn special attention to the recent comments from Bad Bunny about not playing the United States on his latest tour due to fears with regard to his fans. But instead of airing news from Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, “SNL” has chopped the comments of the conservative anchors to let them say together: “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

Bad Bunny then gave a number of sincere comments in his mother tongue and offered thanks to those who are genuinely enthusiastic for his upcoming Super Bowl version. “Especially all Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States that have worked to open doors,” said Bad Bunny in Spanish. “It is more than a victory for myself, it is a victory for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country will not ever be able to remove or erase anyone.”

Then, back to English, Bad Bunny said brutally: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”

The monologue also contained a special guest, “SNL” favorite Jon Hamm – or, in the words of Bad Bunny, “Juan Jamón.” Bad Bunny introduced a clip of Hamm-Dansen on one of his recent concerts before the camera cut to Hamm in the studio 8h audience, dressed in a button-up shirt, sunglasses and bucket hat.

Prior to the new season, “SNL” added a handful of new cast members and writers as a whole series of familiar faces that left the show. Heidi Gardner left the series after eight seasons, while Ego Nwodim announced her exit after seven. Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Please Don’t Destroy’s John Higgins are also absent, while Martin Herlihy passes to writing staff and Ben Marshall joins the main cast. New to the cast are Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Veronika Slowikowska and Tommy Brennan.
