Sinclair ABC stations will not broadcast ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ for the time being

Sinclair will prepare for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” About his ABC stations from Tuesday evening and the show replaced by “news programming”, Variety has confirmed. Negotiations for the return of the show remain underway.

“From Tuesday evening, Sinclair will be the” Jimmy Kimmel Live! ” About our ABC -affiliate stations and replacing news programming, “said a representative for Sinclair with ABC.

The move comes as Disney and ABC to agree to bring Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night program to his schedule. Disney said in a statement on Monday: “Last Wednesday we made the decision to suspend production at the show to further prevent a time reinforcement for our country at an emotional moment. It is a decision that we made because we found that some of the comments were poorly timed and therefore insensitive.

Disney sat aside Kimmel after Nexstar Media and Sinclair, two major owners of the American TV station, sworn “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” For the on-Air comments from the host about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Those announcements were made quickly after FFC chairman Brendan Carr seemed to suggest that broadcasters had to punish Kimmel for his comments.

Many in the entertainment industry quickly gathered behind the Late-Night host, including Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Martin Short, who, together with 400 other star, signed an open letter that protested against Disney’s decision to get Kimmel out of the air.

The comeback of Kimmel, which takes place on Tuesday evening, was approved by Disney CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment co-chairman Dana Walden. Conditions of the agreement are still unclear, including whether Kimmel should apologize for his comments about Kirk.

Sinclair promised last week last week a special news item about Charlie Kirk during Kimmel’s Slot last week instead of the replacement programming ABC was planning to air. But the company ultimately moved the special to its streaming platform and maintained an ABC game show.
