An explosion shook the waters in the vicinity of Baltimore on Monday evening, but luckily it was not the tragedy it could have been.
Baltimore City Fire officials say that the explosion broke out on board a bulk carrier of 751 feet around 6:28 PM, just after leaving the dock. The massive ship – with 23 crew members – immediately drew an emergency aid through both land and water. Civil servants say that everyone on board is safe and responsible.
The aftermath looked intense when a huge black plume of smoke shot in the air, floating over the water, surprisingly nearby residents. The Coast Guard says they are investigating what caused the fire.
In short – it was a scary scene on the water, but a happy escape for the crew.
