‘Schitt’s Creek’ is streaming on HBO Max

The Emmy-winning comedy “Schitt’s Creek” will stream in its entirety on HBO Max starting Saturday, February 7. With the addition comes a newly launched ‘Schitt’s Creek’ playlist via the in-app ‘channels’ feature, offering subscribers a seamless and continuous on-demand feed of the series.
Created by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy, Schitt’s Creek ran for six seasons from 2015 to 2020 and amassed a devoted, massive fan base who root for the antics of wealthy video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap star wife Moira (Katherine O’Hara), and their two children, son David (Dan Levy) and socialite daughter Alexis (Annie Murphy), when they lose their fortune and suddenly find themselves broke.
Although the show originated in Canada on the CBC and aired in the US on cable channel Pop TV, the series became a huge hit when it landed on Netflix. Over the course of its six seasons, the series received 19 Emmy nominations and nine wins, seven of which were awarded for the final season.
The addition to HBO Max follows the death of O’Hara, who died on January 30 at the age of 71. Known for iconic roles in films like “Home Alone,” “Best in Show” and “Beetlejuice,” the actress enjoyed a career renaissance as Moira Rose on “Schitt’s Creek.” She won an Emmy for the role in 2020.
“Words seem inadequate to express the loss I feel today,” Eugene Levy wrote after O’Hara’s death. “I had the honor of knowing and working with the great Catherine O’Hara for over fifty years. From our beginnings on the Second City stage, to SCTV, to the films we made with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ I have cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship. And I will miss her. My heart goes out to Bo, Matthew, Luke and the entire O’Hara family.”
“Schitt’s Creek” was created by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy and is produced by Not a Real Company Productions. It is licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and ITV Studios. The series is also available to stream on Prime Video and Hulu.
