Sarah Jessica Parker about More sex and the city, Hocus Pocus 3, Family Stone 2

Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t saying no to “Sex and the City” anymore, but it doesn’t sound like she’ll be reprising Carrie Bradshaw anytime soon.

SJP told me Tuesday at the Golden Eve gala in Beverly Hills that she’s ready to reprise her beloved, fashion-obsessed character, but it all depends on one person and one person only: “Sex and the City” creator Michael Patrick King.

“I hear a lot of very original ideas, all nice and well-intentioned and often very clever, but the only thing that really matters is what makes Michael Patrick King tick. And right now he’s just not thinking about that,” Parker said.

Parker made a rare appearance on the West Coast to be honored with the Carol Burnett Award at the star-studded Golden Eve dinner and awards ceremony. She hit the carpet with husband Matthew Broderick and their actor son James Wilkie Broderick before reuniting with “Sex and the City” costars Kristen Davis, Evan Handler and David Eigenberg.

Parker also offered an update on the highly anticipated third installment of the “Hocus Pocus” franchise. “They’re working on it,” Parker said. “Where better [Midler] going, I’m going. Bette is like a 13-year-old girl with a new bicycle. She says, ‘I have wheels, let’s travel.’

And then there are the ongoing attempts to make a sequel to ‘The Family Stone,’ which starred the late Diane Keaton.

“I’m so excited…but it’s a pretty bittersweet dilemma considering the loss of Diane Keaton,” Parker said. “But it was a very special group of actors, and there had been conversations with everyone before Diane passed away, so I hope we can do that. The hardest thing is everyone’s schedules.”
