Sara Foster apparently alluding to her and Tommy Haas‘ relationship issues as she details her emotional journey in her podcast.

“I have walls everywhere, and it’s only been in the last two years that I’ve decided I don’t want those walls anymore,” Sara, 43, told her sister. Erin Foster and their “The world’s first podcastguest Justin Baldoni on the Thursday, August 15 episode. “I’ve never been one to really talk about how I feel.”

Sara recorded the podcast before she and Haas split, which made headlines on Wednesday, August 14. During the episode, she said she had been in therapy for three years to better express her feelings.

“I long to surround myself with people who will show up like that. I just don’t have time for anything else,” Sara revealed. “That’s where I am now, and I’m cutting people out left and right.”

The Favorite Daughter co-founder explained that she is now trying to become an “open f–king can of worms” and expects the same from the people in her life.

“I just crave deep, hard conversations,” Sara admitted. “I think because I’ve avoided hard conversations my whole life, I’m like, ‘If you’re here to make small talk, you’re out.’ You are the king.’ For example, I have to go deep, otherwise we won’t go [there].”

Erin, 41, and Baldoni, 40, both said they were proud of Sara for being vulnerable, which made her emotional. Sara broke down about being “a little late” on the trip, but noted that she realized it was “just the perfect timing” for these revelations.

The podcast episode dropped a day after news broke that Sara and Haas, 46, were calling it quits after 19 years together. People was the first to report the breakup, with a source saying the estranged couple was currently focused on co-parenting their two daughters, Valentina, 13, and Josephine, 8. Neither Sara nor Haas have spoken publicly about the split.

We weekly reached out for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.

The duo started dating in the mid-2000s and were together for almost two decades before their divorce. Last year, Sara commented on her relationship with the former tennis player and explained why they never married.

“We’ve been together since I was 25 years old,” Sara said on the “We met at Acmepodcast at the time. “We have two children. Our lives are completely intertwined and together.”

Sara, one of David Foster‘s six children, pointed to her father’s five marriages as one of the reasons she never married. (David, 74, is currently married to Katharine McPhee.)

“I didn’t grow up respecting marriage because I grew up thinking it didn’t mean anything,” she admitted. “You just walk away, you cheat, you go to this person, you go to that person. We just didn’t grow up with the foundation of marriage as a union of bliss and a holy matrimony forever, and we just didn’t do that.”

Sara explained that she and Haas were engaged “early on” in their romance, but put a wedding “on the back burner” as they expanded their family.

“We are very involved. Then we had our daughter, and it was just like, we have to, right? she added. “Now it’s gotten to the point where we don’t even talk about it anymore.”
