Royals hit by cancer conspiracy theory as King Charles battled illness

But Malhotra’s claims struck a chord due to the number of royals affected.

A palace source said: “It has been an extremely difficult time. The King is still receiving treatment, Catherine is recovering and Sarah Ferguson has had two serious diagnoses. Claims like this only add to the suffering.”

Another royal insider said the family was aware of the speculation surrounding the late queen’s health, adding: “Books have suggested cancer was a factor in her decline, but the family has never commented. That vacuum fuels conspiracy theories.”

Reform UK said Malhotra was a “guest speaker with his own views” at their event, claiming the party “does not endorse what he said but does believe in freedom of expression.”

Despite criticism from medical experts, a source close to Malhotra said he considers himself a whistleblower.

“He believes he is raising issues that others are afraid to touch,” the source said.

“He knew that invoking the royal family would attract attention – that was the whole point.”

British Health Secretary Wes Streeting branded the doctor’s message as dangerous and said it risked reducing vaccine uptake.

Since then, there have been calls for the General Medical Council to investigate Malhotra. Charles has since given an uplifting update on his battle with cancer and says he expects his treatments to ease in the new year.
