Ronald Reagan’s FDIC Chairman Lists Spectacular Gulf Side Sarasota Mansion for $26 Million
A stunning Gulf front estate built for the banking legend and former FDIC chairman Bill Isaac has hit the market for the very first time in Sarasota, FL, with a sky-high asking price of $26 million.
Isaac, who served during the Jimmy Carter And Ronald Reagan governments and is credited with steering the nation through a recession during extremely financially tumultuous times, originally purchased the Lido Shores property for $2.7 million in 2000.

Since entertainment mogul Johannes Ringling Thanks to the fame of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Sarasota became one of the largest in the country In the 1920s, the area’s waterfront mansions, the chicest and most private winter retreats, were highly sought after by business magnates and celebrities who valued luxury, discretion and waterfront privacy.
And perhaps none offers a more pristine setting than Isaac’s estate, which spans 6,862 square feet and sits on a huge lot with 250 feet of frontage on the Gulf of Mexico.
“It’s the only home in the area where you can control so much waterfront, with the opportunity to build a gigantic complex and buy even more adjacent waterfront property next to it,” Menninger said.
He is referring to the plot on the other side of the Isaac estate, which boasts an additional 30 meters of wave frontage, expanding the total to a potential 100 metres, and the total footprint of the complex to more than one hectare. That additional parcel of land is available for an additional $11 million.
Lido Shores is located on a series of exclusive keys, connected to Sarasota via the Ringling Bridge.

For reference, the most expensive home in the country sold so far this year is another sprawling waterfront estate in Naples, Florida, which fetched a whopping $133 million.
