Robert Duvall’s Secret Torment Over ‘Legacy’ He Buried at 95

When asked As for what he “loved most” about turning 90, Duvall joked that he wasn’t too fond of growing older, but he enjoyed spending time with Pedraza.

“She takes care of me, and I have good friends, and I try to train and stay in shape,” he said in a July 2021 interview.

The two first met in Buenos Aires in March 1996 when Pedraza approached Duvall to invite him to her boyfriend’s party.

“My friends said, ‘Go and invite him to our party. He loves the tango.’ So we walked around the block and talked. I said, ‘Mr. Duvall, here’s my card. If you want to come to this party, my friends would love to have you, without expectations. And he came,” she said remembered in a March 2003 interview.

Pedraza announced her husband’s death in a February 16 Facebook post.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, dear friend and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort,” she wrote. “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director and a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything.”
