RHOA’s Kandi Burruss breaks silence on Todd Tucker’s divorce

Kandi Burrus is speaking out in the wake of her divorce from Todd Tucker after filing for divorce last week.

“My life has gone crazy lately,” Burruss, 49, revealed during her Monday, November 24, interview Amazon Live aired, referencing her recent breakup.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum explained, “I’ll be completely honest with you, I’m up and down. Obviously going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing. Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with friends.”

Burruss noted, “But sometimes you have moments of sadness. And being the Taurus that I am, I like to keep those moments to myself.”

She remembered that when she was working RHOAshe “couldn’t keep moments to myself when I got upset” so her fans would “see me crying.”

But in her “real life,” Burruss said, “I don’t really like those moments being shared with the world.”

Burruss said her divorce from 52-year-old Tucker was one of those times when she was able to keep her private life a secret.

After confirming that she had filed for divorce on Friday, November 21, Burress admitted that the split is “something that has been brewing for a while.”

“So all those times you’ve seen me online [all smiles] means nothing,” she admitted. ‘I’ve been through it, child. I’ve experienced it. Life has lived me.”

Burruss, who shares son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6, with Tucker, later told her followers that she’s “hanging in there as best she can.”

The reality star revealed it was “hard” reading comments about her breakup on social media from people who were “making their own story about what was going on.”

Despite the negative attention, Burruss said she has “no regrets” about her marriage to Tucker.

“Sometimes things don’t work out. It just is what it is,” she said, adding that their two children together “keep it very friendly” for the sake of their children. (Burruss also shares daughter Riley, 23, with ex Russell Spencer.)

We weekly confirmed Friday that Burruss and Tucker called it quits after 11 years of marriage.

“After deep thought and much prayer, I have made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” Burruss said in a statement to Us. “I am entering a new chapter in my work, my family and my own growth. I am grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years, and I ask for privacy, grace and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”

The news came a week after Burruss gave Tucker props for his support during her tenure RHOA. (Burruss left the Bravo franchise in 2023 after season 15.)

“To Todd, thank you for surviving the blogs, the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the near-fights, the actual fights, the reunions,” Burruss said during The Bravos of BravoCon 2025 while accepting the Wifetime Achievement award on November 14. “You also deserve this award.”

Tucker returned the favor, giving Burruss a shout-out via social media after she won the milestone trophy.

“Well deserved, you did it with class and dignity. You are an inspiration to many. You are the 🐐GOAT!” he wrote in the comments section of Bravo and Burruss’ joint Instagram post.
