RHOA Alum Kandi Burruss provides update on co-parenting with ex Todd Tucker

Kandi Burrus gets realistic about the ins and outs of co-parenting with her ex Todd Tucker in the midst of their separation.
“We decided that no matter what happens, we will always be good co-parents to our children,” Buruss, 49, told cohosts Jenna Bush Hager And Sheinelle Jones as he appears on the friday, january 16, episode of Today with Jenna and Sheinelle.
“So that means that, you know, sometimes we go on vacation together because we’re still a family, even though he and I have decided to go our separate ways,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum continued. “And we try to make it as easy as possible for our children.”
In November 2025, Burruss announced that she was divorcing 52-year-old Tucker after 11 years of marriage.
“After deep thought and much prayer, I have made the decision to move forward with divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” Burrus said in a statement to We weekly at the time. “I am entering a new chapter in my work, my family and my growth. I am grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years, and I ask for privacy, grace and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
Less than a month later, Burruss revealed that she would be spending the holidays with her ex despite their divorce.
“You already know I’m getting divorced, but we decided we’re still going to spend Christmas together,” Burruss, mother of Riley, 23, Ace, 9, and Blaze, 6, said in a Dec. 15 episode of her Amazon Live broadcast. “Even though we have all this shit now, we’re still going to do it together for our kids, so we’re going to spend Christmas in New York.”
In addition to remaining committed to developing a healthy and lasting co-parenting relationship with her ex for the sake of their children, Burruss also throws herself into work, including her role as Angélique in the hit musical & Julia.
“[The show] It definitely helped,” Burruss said Friday about how her work has helped her navigate her divorce. “When I decided to do this show, the moment was right when… I was in the middle of it, right there. So it’s been the best therapy for me because sometimes, you know, you need something to focus your attention on or your attention to keep your mind out of a sad place.
She continued, “So for me it’s like singing, performing, you know, learning to be better, making myself better – training more, you now, working on my singing, doing whatever I need to do to make sure I’m the best I can be on stage in front of everyone. I might be breaking down behind the scenes, but I’ve got to keep it together, you know. It gives me motivation.”
The reality TV star made an appearance in December The view to perform a song from the Broadway show. Her estranged husband later posted a clip of the segment via Instagram to show his support.
“@kandi great job!” he wrote at the time. “Keep inspiring and do your thing!!!”
