Revelo’s LatAm talent network sees strong demand from US companies, thanks to AI

Although many technology companies oblige that their employees return to their offices and emphasize the construction of personal teams, they also largely run to Latin America to find developer talent for AI models after training.

ReveloA full-stack platform of highlighted developers in Latin America sees a new increase in the demand for engineers who can help with LLM training, co-founder of Revelo and CEO Lucas Mendes, WAN said. Revelo has more than 400,000 developers on his platform and facilitates the recruitment and payment process for his American customers.

Mendes said that this recent increase in demand for Revelo’s talent is being powered by the next phase of the AI Revolution: post-training LLMS.

“There is a race for data, and in particular expert human data that can actually help LLMS to be better with very specific high -quality tasks,” Mendes said. “Coding is one of those tasks. And what happened last year is that we saw an increase in question of [companies] Build fundamental models that are looking for engineers who can be effective experts and that can offer human data to better help their LLM code. “

LLM Training Hires accounted for 22% of Revelo’s turnover in 2024.

Mendes added that this question often looks like companies that come to them to find experts in specific coding languages to fill gaps in the post training they already do.

Revelo supplies, among other things, employees to US Enterprises Intuit, Oracle and Dell, including “almost every big hyperscale AI provider.”

Revelo is not the only company that wants to connect American companies with programmers in Latin -America; Other companies such as Terminal, Tecla and Near are just a few for the same purpose.

This question for developers who are competent in post-training is just the latest recruitment trend that Revelo has been able to ride since it was founded at the end of 2014.

Mendes said that he launched Revelo alongside co-founder Lachlan de Crespigny because the war for talent was tight at the time, and they thought that if they would create a network of through-merger talent in Brazil, companies could find the talent they needed.

The question there was there and Revelo continued with more than $ 48 million in venture financing of companies such as Social Capital, FJ Labs and Valor Capital Group. The company also spread from Brazil and to wider Latam.

The COVID-19 Pandemie expanded the potential reach of Revelo “massively”, added Mendes. “All of a sudden we started to become incoming American companies of American companies that suddenly realized that you can actually have really high-quality distributed teams and that some of those engineers are in Latin America,” said Mendes. “So what would usually happen is that they would hire one or two and really keep the quality of the quality of the quality of the quality and say,” Hey, I want more of this, where do I think? “

Although the rise of distributed and remote work has largely begun to fade when companies return to personal work, Revelo has still succeeded in continuing to grow. Mendes joked that he hates the man who goes against the buzz, but the demand for their Latam talent was not taken despite the movement of Tech back to the office.

Mendes said he thinks that the question of American companies for these developers has remained in Latin -America because these developers fall more in the ‘nearshoring’ category, in contrast to ‘offshoring’. He believes that Revelo’s talent is in the same time zones, because their customer companies make these recruitments a lot more attractive.

Revelo sees sufficient requirement that it has taken over five other competitors who have focused on Latam talent for the past 30 months, including Alto And Paretisathat were announced in March.

“We are building that global backbone for the AI era and there will be more acquisitions in the future,” he said.
