Realtor.com releases 3D “FlyAround” property viewing tool

FlyAround uses Google Maps 3D technology and is powered by TopHap Inc. It integrates directly into real estate listing pages and provides a visual experience that shows details such as lot size, terrain and surrounding context.
“We are focused on giving home buyers the right tools, confidence and expert edge to make confident decisions about their homes,” said Dave Herman, senior vice president of product and artificial intelligence (AI) innovation at Realtor.com. “FlyAround brings listings to life in a way that helps home buyers see not just the home, but the entire environment – transforming what was once a 2D online experience into an interactive exploration.”
About half of recent homebuyers or potential buyers say they would consider purchasing a home without visiting it in person, up from 44% in 2023, according to Realtor.com’s 2025 Consumer Attitudes & Usage Study.
Among starters, that figure rises to 52%.
According to leaders, FlyAround aims to address this trend by helping shoppers better understand a property’s surroundings before scheduling a personal tour.
“Bringing 3D maps from Google Maps Platform to Realtor.com takes the home search experience from a simple real estate assessment to a fully immersive, photorealistic experience,” said Tina Weyand, senior director of product management at Google Maps Platform. “This allows homebuyers to gain a more intuitive sense of place by exploring the neighborhood more deeply right from their screen – which is incredibly useful when making one of life’s biggest decisions.”
FlyAround will be available for all MLS listings on Realtor.com with geographic coordinates, as well as off-market and recently sold properties. The tool will appear as a one-click option on the detail page of each listing, the company said.
The feature follows Realtor.com’s introduction of an AI-powered natural language search tool, which allows users to type or speak phrases such as “three-bedroom homes under $800,000 with a modern kitchen.”
