Queen Elizabeth’s legacy is marred by Andrew’s ‘spiritual gurus’ compensation

The claims emerged in The Windsor LegacyJobson’s examination of the modern monarchy and the difficult legacy faced by King Charles III, 77, after the death of his mother at the age of 96 in 2022.
According to the book, Andrew had asked Charles to fund £32,000 – about $41,000 – for Indian spiritual advisors to stay with him at the Royal Lodge.
Charles flatly refused. However, the Queen would previously have signed similar editions without hesitation.
Jobson writes that Charles was “shocked” when he heard of the request and immediately shut it down, marking a clear break with his mother’s approach to Andrew.
A royal insider also told us that the king saw the payments as emblematic of an era he was determined to end.
“There was a growing feeling in the palace that these kinds of indulgences had been allowed to happen on autopilot for years,” the source said.
