Producer Daniel Silver launches BD4 Docu label with Banijay Americas
Banijay Americas has teamed up with former ESPN producer Daniel Silver to launch a documentary label BD4, which will combine documentary filmmaking with narrative storytelling.
“We are excited to welcome Daniel Silver to the Banijay Americas family,” said Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas.
“Silver’s extensive connections in documentary storytelling and his bold approach to filmmaking will greatly enrich the craft of this format. Silver captures stories with profound authenticity, revealing hidden lives and experiences. BD4 dives deeper by combining cinematic scope with intimate exploration to showcase untold stories of contemporary cultural icons, athletes and artists, resulting in surprising and more intimate experiences that resonate deeply with a broad audience,” said Samek.
Before working with Banijay, Silver produced documentaries for ESPN for over a decade and was head of unscripted content at Disney+. Silver also worked at Marvel Entertainment, ABC Digital News and Netflix, where he oversaw the production of the streamer’s original English-language documentaries.
“I am honored to join forces with Banijay Americas,” said Silver. “This company is the gold standard in the unscripted space and is one of the world’s leading independent studios. With this partnership, BD4 will be empowered to vigorously explore new creative paths and collaborations. I look forward to using this opportunity to amplify other new voices and visions.”
