Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence’s relationship timeline

Princess Anne – the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II And Prince Philip – Married Sir Timothy Laurence in December 1992.
When the couple initially met in 1986, Anne was still married to her first husband, Mark Phillips, whom she married in 1973 (she and Phillips welcomed son Godfather In 1977 and daughter Zara Tindall In 1981.)
Anne and Mark announced their intention to separate before she applied for a divorce in April 1992. Less than a year later Anne married Timothy in a small ceremony in Crathie Kirk near Balmoral Castle in Scotland in December 1992.
Timothy, a retired officer of Royal Navy, did not receive a royal title after the marriages. In 2008, however, he was made a personal assistant to the late Queen Elizabeth II. After Elizabeth died at the age of 96 in September 2022, the husband of Anne lived in various events in honor of the late British monarch. In the years that followed, he stayed at the side of his wife.
